If you have never floated with us before, it is important that you take the time to read through the following information and watch the below introduction video.

You may not know what to expect from the float tank expedience so we have put together the following information to answer some of the common questions and give you some tips to ensure you get the most from your floating experience.  Check out the below DO's & DONT'S of floating at the Wellness Studio:

FLOAT DO's:

Arrive on time

  • If you are late, your float session may need to be cut short to ensure the following appointment can start on time.  We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first session to complete your form & 5 minutes early for all subsequent appointments.  Allow yourself plenty of time to get to our studio- it's much harder to relax into the tank if you've been rushing.

Allow plenty of time for your float session

  • We recommend allowing at least 20 minutes either side of your appointment time to ensure you have time to relax prior and post float.

Shower prior to your appointment

  • You are required to shower before you enter the tank.   You will also need to shower after your float to rinse off the salt solution.

Switch off your phone....

  • It's time to disconnect and escape your busy life.  We ask that you turn your phone off & do not take calls while you are in reception or in your float room.   If you need to have your phone available for emergency calls (children/work) then we suggest you leave your phone with staff at reception with instructions and we can look after it for you.

Ensure any small cuts or scratches are covered with Vaseline or a waterproof dressing.  We provide these items in your float room.

  • This is for hygiene purposes as well as the fact the highly salty solution of the tank will cause any open cuts/scratches to REALLY STING!!

Remove glasses, contact lenses and jewellery

If you are nervous, talk to us, ask as many questions as you like.

  • Let us know if you are nervous or unsure of anything.  Odds are someone else has asked us the same questions.  We are here to assist and inform you to ensure you have the best experience we can provide.

We provide fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner & body wash in all float rooms.

Attire in our float tanks is either swimwear or floating naked (click here for float tank hygiene standards...)

FLOAT DO NOT's:

Don't shave or wax within the 12 hours prior to your session

  • The salty environment of the tank means that any waxed/shaved areas can REALLY STING!!!

Don't Drink caffeine or other stimulant drinks before your session

  • These will make it difficult for you to relax into the tank environment.  For example, having a coffee in the morning is OK if you're not floating until later in the day

Don't Have a large heavy meal in the 90 mins before you float

  • Not only might you feel unwell, but your digestive system will be making lots of noises and this can be disruptive in your float.

Don't float if you have large open cuts, or have had gastro in the last 14 days.

Don't Float straight after having hair coloured or chemically straightened

  • Generally we recommend waiting atleast 48hours after having your hair coloured to avoid the salty tank environment causing your colour to fade prematurely.

Don't smoke right before you float

  • It can make it difficult to relax into the tank .  It also smells and the smell can be carried into the float room with you, this can be unpleasant for staff & customers.

Don't Consume drugs or alcohol prior to your appointment.

  • We reserve the right to refuse treatment to anyone we suspect may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Please don't take too long in the shower after your float

  • Please consider that we may have another client waiting & we do need to allow sufficient time for filtering & cleaning.  If you feel you need more than 10 minutes to shower & do hair/make-up after your session - please just advise at the time of your appointment & we can shorten your float time accordingly.
